Walk in the Garden Part 3

Have you been able to weed out some fabric scraps while sewing the garden flowers? In just a few weeks you’ll be able to set them into your quilt garden. This week you’ll sew four small posies and some flying geese leaves.

Here is the link to the patterns for Week 3 of the Walk in the Garden Sew Along.

The leaves pattern is a paper piecing pattern. You can, however, make each flying geese triangle unit after watching this video by Leah Day HERE: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tY7gsTP3L7s

Leah gives a very good lesson on making flying geese units. For the leaves in this pattern you will need to cut (12) 2 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ green rectangles and (24) 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ squares of background fabric. After you’ve sewn all (12) flying geese units, sew 6 geese units together for each long block.

Tomorrow, Tuesday, March 6, begins the Quilt Block Mania free Block of the Month. The theme is flowers. With over 20 designers offering blocks, you might find more to create a large garden quilt! Visit my blog tomorrow for the list of participating designers!

We could have a GARDEN PARTY!

Wishing you happy stitching!
