Starry Sky Quilt Block

This free downloadable forest-themed block I call Starry Sky is a block in a block. The foundation paper-pieced star is placed in the center of the block. The outer borders of the variable star block surrounding it. Both are easy to construct.

I remember family camping trips, setting up the pop-up trailer in wooded campgrounds. We would view the night sky, full of stars, large and small, blinking or glowing brightly, and identifying various constellations. That memory inspired my block design for Quilt Block Mania this month.
