Sparkly Stars Quilt Block

The Quilt Block Mania free quilt block theme for November is Sparkle.

So many sparkly things can be represented by a quilt block!

The various quilting skill levels are considered when I choose a pattern design.

I pondered on designing a simple pieced gemstone, thinking it would be easy to sew.

But my simple designs didn’t provide the sparkly appearance I wanted.

The complex gemstone patterns I developed looked nice and sparkled but were too complex to share with all visitors.

I designed this easy-to-sew star block for everyone. You can work this into many projects.

It would make a fun pillow cover, and with more blocks, it could become a summery table runner or a child’s quilt.

I suggest using batiks because their rich, complex patterns add visual interest to quilts. The block(s) would have an “out-of-this-world” sparkle.
