Quilt Blocks for a Party Theme

Mardi Gras folded party napkins

Happy New Year! Have you ever sewn a Party-Themed Quilt? What did, or would, your quilt celebrate?

Gather free party quilt block patterns this month until January 31 from the Quilt Block Mania designers listed below.

My block depicts 4 folded napkins. You can configure the layout as you like. I think it’s fun to make a few free choices in your layout. You can download the Party Napkins pattern for free until January 31, 2024at

Decide what kind of party you will be having. My block has Mardi Gras fabric. I haven’t seen the other designer patterns as of this writing. My collection of Mardi Gras fabrics will work into these patterns for a unique celebration quilt.

I went to New Orleans on a quilters’ bus trip in 2015. It was a wonderful trip and I learned so much about Louisiana. While touring one of the “warehouses” where they stored and worked on some of the floats for the annual Mardi Gras parades, I became hooked on Mardi Gras.

Greetings from Canal Street New Orleans quilt

I made a quilt based on our visit to the French Quarter. I took a photo as I stood on the corner, waiting to cross Canal Street and go to the French Quarter. I made the quilt below from that photo for entry into the 2016 AQS Guild Quilt Competition for The Tall Pine Quilters Guild I belong to. Our guild was accepted into the show. No awards, but the first experience of entering and being accepted into such a show.
