Mountain Tunnel Quilt Block

This month the Quilt Block Mania designers’ free quilt block theme is mountains. My paper-pieced block shows a tunnel with a road running through it to the other side of a mountain range.

I can visualize the block sewn with various batiks, making the mountains look more realistic, as chunks of rocks here and there. The grassy area could be made with a patterned greenish fabric to look like grasses or bushes growing alongside the road.

The blocks from all the other designers should make a fun quilt!
