Hammer Quilt Block

This month I present the Hammer quilt block – using foundation paper piecing.

Hammer quilt block paper pieced

(My blog is back running! YEAH!)

What better tool for a maker than a hammer. This will be a great addition to a quilt that is made for one who uses a hammer (among other tools.)

I fell in love with woodworking as a kid when my dad taught me how to use the tools and admire various woods. I still have my favorite scents of wood and identifying a wood by its grain and color continues to be fun.

So the pattern is pretty straightforward. I would say an intermediate piecer can easily make this. The directions provide a link to learn a bit about paper piecing for anyone wanting to try it.

Here is the PayHip link to the pattern: https://payhip.com/b/xgPXp

I’ll leave it up free for 2 weeks into March to cover the downtime the website experienced.

Visit the other designers’ maker blocks. What fun quilts these all will make.
