Hammer Quilt Block

This month I present the Hammer quilt block – using foundation paper piecing.

What better tool for a maker than a hammer! This will be a great addition to a quilt made for one who uses a hammer (among other tools).

I fell in love with woodworking as a kid when my dad taught me how to use the tools and admire various woods. I still have my favorite wood scents, and identifying a wood by its grain and color continues to be fun.

The pattern is pretty straightforward. An intermediate piecer can easily make this. The directions provide a link to learn about paper piecing for anyone wanting to try it.
