April Fool’s Day!

Today is April 1, referred to as April Fool’s Day. I wasn’t sure how it came about, so I did an internet search. The first link that came up was The History Channel https://www.history.com/topics/holidays/april-fools-day , which I thought would be quite accurate. There is no definite knowledge of why this day is one of practical jokes, but it is possibly related to the change in the calendar in 1563. People didn’t get notice of the calendar change until long after the new year began, thus thinking it was a practical joke.

I’m not sure I will have any practical jokes played on me today since I’m not going anywhere. But one never knows if the internet will be a bit wacky or perhaps we’ll get a lot of snow instead of the dusting they predict! But the quote by an unknown author above is my wish for all my visitors today (I’m not joking!) If you can’t think of any practical jokes to play on someone, you might choose one suggested in the poem below.
